Personal Profiles
Ian Murray is a Principal and Senior Partner of Personal Alternative® Funeral Services. Ian found his way into the funeral profession as a result of the death of a close family member. Realizing what a profound effect the professionals serving his family had on him, Ian selected Funeral Service as his chosen career path.
Ian began his career and served his apprenticeship working within the structure of a corporate funeral chain, and soon realized that this environment was too regimented and restrictive for the consumer, and for him to adequately serve the public in the manner in which he wanted. During his career, Ian has volunteered extensively in the Hospice movement and has conducted numerous seminars and workshops in the public school system.
Ian is an experienced Funeral Director and Embalmer; has completed his internship, and received his degree in Mortuary Sciences. Ian assists families with his extensive knowledge of Veterans Benefits, State Benefits and Victims Assistance Programs. With Personal Alternative's unique approach to providing an affordable, common-sense "alternative" to the expensive traditional funeral homes found in this area, Ian believes his client families will be much better served.
Ian and his wife, Shannon, a Seattle University Alumni, enjoy cooking, golfing, scuba diving, martial arts, and outings with their godchildren; and are both active volunteers in various local charitable organizations. |
